Garden Tool Enhancement
In this project, I created a product that allows for customisation in your garden tools. Having a high-quality handle with different attachable heads allows for less waste and a more quality one-time purchase handle.
I was instructed to research current garden tools on the market, as well as interview 2 people who garden. I then come up with a bunch of sketch renders that include better ways of functionality, sustainability, durability, etc. I immediately began sketching and came up with a bunch of ideas.
After research and interviews, I found a common problem that consisted of having too many garden tools, and not the interviewee mentioned that she would constantly lose and misplace them because she had so many. This also made me think about the amount of waste being used with everyone buying multiple garden tools, and throwing them away after use. I came up with an idea of having the head of the tools be able to screw off. This would limit the amount of waste being produced, and also make it easier to keep track of the smaller amount of tools.
I ideated this idea, and came up with these two sketches. I then recieved positive feedback from my professors, and continued to make this product using CAD, 3D printing, and heat forming.

I then created a logo of the brand, and a webpage of what the brand would look like. The idea would be that you can go onto the website and you can buy a kit that comes with a singular handle, and multiple heads for different tools, this would limit the amount of waste.
